BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LadyLand Festival returned to Brooklyn on June 27 and 28, 2025, with a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, music, and artistry. Headlined by global superstars Cardi B and FKA twigs, the two-day event transformed Under the K Bridge Park into a pulsating hub of inclusivity and expression during Pride Weekend.
Organized by nightlife icon Ladyfag in collaboration with The Bowery Presents, LadyLand has evolved since its 2018 inception into a cornerstone of New York City’s Pride Month festivities. This year’s edition featured over 40 artists across three stages, showcasing a diverse array of genres and performances that resonated with the festival’s commitment to celebrating queer voices and allies.
On Friday, June 27, Cardi B electrified the crowd with her dynamic presence and chart-topping hits. The Bronx-born rapper, known for her candidness and advocacy, has long been embraced by the LGBTQ+ community for her outspoken support and representation. Her performance was complemented by sets from artists like Sukihana, Cobrah, and DJ collective Hercules & Love Affair, creating an atmosphere of empowerment and celebration.
Saturday’s lineup, headlined by the avant-garde FKA twigs, offered a more ethereal and experimental experience. Twigs’ performance marked a significant return to the U.S. stage following the release of her latest album, “Eusexua,” and the resolution of previous visa issues that had led to canceled appearances earlier in the year. Her set was a highlight of the festival, blending innovative visuals with her distinctive sound.
The festival’s diverse roster also included international sensations like Brazilian drag queen Pabllo Vittar, experimental artist Eartheater, and Berlin-based DJ VTSS. Emerging talents such as Isabella Lovestory and Cortisa Star added fresh energy to the lineup, reflecting LadyLand’s dedication to spotlighting both established and up-and-coming queer artists.
Beyond the music, LadyLand served as a communal space for advocacy and connection. Attendees engaged with various organizations and initiatives aimed at supporting LGBTQ+ rights and well-being, reinforcing the festival’s role as more than just an entertainment venue but as a platform for social impact.
The choice of Under the K Bridge Park as the venue provided an urban yet intimate setting, with its open spaces and industrial backdrop enhancing the festival’s unique ambiance. The location’s accessibility and design facilitated a welcoming environment for attendees of all backgrounds.
As Pride Month continues to be a time of reflection and celebration, events like LadyLand underscore the importance of visibility and representation in the arts. By bringing together a multifaceted lineup of performers and fostering an inclusive atmosphere, LadyLand 2025 not only entertained but also empowered its audience, leaving a lasting impression on Brooklyn’s cultural landscape.
