Levitation Festival made a triumphant return to Austin, Texas, from September 25 to 28, 2025, showcasing a diverse lineup of psych-rock, electronic, and punk artists. Headliners included Pavement, TV on the Radio, and Mastodon, with performances by Built to Spill, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Acid Bath, and The Black Angels. This year introduced a hybrid format, featuring main stage performances at the Palmer Events Center and nightly shows across downtown Austin’s Red River District. Festival co-founder Rob Fitzpatrick highlighted the enhanced experience with upgraded production, including air conditioning, improved facilities, and ample parking at the new venue, aiming to preserve the spirit of the city’s music culture while offering a world-class festival environment.
A New Chapter at Palmer Events Center
For the first time in its 17-year history, Levitation centralized its daytime performances at the Palmer Events Center, a 75,000-square-foot venue nestled along Town Lake. The indoor main stage featured immersive 360-degree visuals, while an adjacent outdoor stage offered performances under the canopy of live oaks, blending natural beauty with cutting-edge production.
Festival co-founder Rob Fitzpatrick expressed enthusiasm about the new setup:
“We’ve been searching for the right location to bring a multi-stage experience back to Levitation for years, and we found it right downtown,” he said. “The venue offers a huge upgrade in production overall with endless possibilities for the visual experience—air conditioning, nice bathrooms, ample parking, and beautiful surroundings.”
Despite the venue change, Levitation maintained its roots by continuing nightly shows in Austin’s iconic Red River Cultural District. Venues like Stubb’s, Mohawk, and Elysium hosted performances, preserving the intimate club atmosphere that has been a hallmark of the festival.
